REGGAE / R&B
Tropic Vibez brings a fresh and exciting sound to the forefront, combining the influences of classic Roots and Dancehall with a modern R&B twist, hailing from central NJ. The band began with simple jam sessions on the beaches of the Jersey Shore in 2015, from Belmar to Manasquan. This resulted in their first effort, an EP entitled Sticky Pineapple, released in February 2017. Recorded by Nik Bruzzese of Man Overboard fame, the release proved to be the bedrock for the group's modern sound. Following was a period of gigging and development, writing new music and honing their sounds. The group took their first step into the world of LP's with their debut record, Later Tonight, released in May 2018 on their own Sensi Squad collective label. Working with the talents of John P. Allen, in-demand sideman and engineer whose extensive resume includes Bon Jovi's New Jersey, this record is perhaps the climax of the two years of cultivation and creativity, featuring fresh sounds of roots Reggae and R&B stylings. After an east coast tour in support of the record, the boys began to study and listen to the music of their childhood, including classic Dancehall, Reggae, and R&B. This resulted in the band's latest EP, ...From the Beginning, released on May 17, 2019. Going into the tumultuous year of 2020 didn't stop the group, as they unveiled a modernized sound with their latest project, Urban Expression, showcasing the new style with the lead single, "Millennial Anthem."
